The always adorable Miss Delaney came to see me again...seriously can she be any more sweet! We had so much fun with her session and she was just lovin' the attention and how about those outfits...ummmm...so stinkin' cute! I wish she lived here because I would be calling her mom every week for me to shoot her...but I will have to wait until the next time they come back to visit their family.

The beautiful Miss Hattie...the first time I got to capture this little beauty she quickly stole my heart! This image from her newborn session is still one of my all time favorites...it's just a sweet, simple and beautiful capture. Well now Miss Hattie has grown up a little and is now two years old. One thing that I love about my job is that I get to see these little babes who are so tiny and fresh grow up right before me...their newborn session and then the in-between months: 3 to 9 months, then the famous ONE year cake smash, eighteen months, the two year session and so on.

Miss Hattie is now two and she's a beautiful two year old who loves to dance...it is one of the cutest things ever to see her dance! She made mom and I work for her smiles but were those smiles worth it! I can't wait until the next time she comes to visit me to see how much she has changed and grown.

Mini top hats...I am sure you have seen them somewhere (as I think almost everyone is either making them or using them) as they are the newest craz for little girls and photoshoots. And if you have a little girl like mine they will just love them! My daughter would use them in every session we do if I let her.

I was on Etsy one day awhile back and I found "Charming Necessities" and let me just say I instantly fell in LOVE with her clothing and style! So as I am looking thru her store I see the cutest little top hats EVER and I order my first two mini top hats. I patiently wait the two weeks and when they arrive I open the package and I can not wait to do a session with them! And as you can see from the photos below I had some fun capturing these beautiful little girls and these beautiful mini top hats!
And what's even better is these mini top hats match her clothing collections and if you are looking for headbands she has those too!

Our very own Superman { Bark River, Michigan Child Photographer }

Preston...seven years old, loving , caring, and gives lots of hugs! Obsessed with movies (at any given time can be seen carrying around 20-50 dvds just so he can read them), his favorite toys are his nintendo ds, his leapster and his beanie baby dog names "Puppy" (which we are on number 16 since he was one year old...yes we have gone through 15 of them), loves McDonalds french fries and tortilla chips..and he LOVES to wear his Superman costume! Oh yeah...almost forgot...Preston also has Autism.

April is "National Autism Awareness Month"...well for us ...we deal with "the Autism" everyday. We have our good days and we have our bad days...we are just grateful that the good days waayyy out number those bad days :)We have come such a long way and the past two years have been with the most changes, with Preston in school with his "team" and with him talking so much more now. I will even catch him singing to some songs in the van now and I just soak that up...I ♥ it so...one song is Katy Perry's "Firework"...I mean how fitting is that!?! There is just so much new and it's everyday...I think one of my favorites is still hearing "I love you mom", I don't think I will ever get tired of hearing him say that!

What most people don't know is that Preston is more than just this amazing child who may have this little thing called Autism... which does not stop him in anyway...we keep chugging ahead! But Preston is this little miracle that came after the most heartbreaking thing any parents should never have to go thru. In May 2002 our baby girls were born at 24 weeks and both Payton and Hope passed away...our world was shattered and I honestly thought I was never going to survive it...all I wanted was to be a mom and after everything we had to go thru to even become pregnant, we were blessed with these two amazing little girls and then only to have all of our dreams taken away. I still remember the phone call when we became pregnant with Preston..the nurse said the number is low...so I am thinking it's not a viable pregnancy but we will test in two days to see if it doubles....two days later it barely doubled and at the six week ultrasound...there he was on the screen with a strong heartbeat and after 37 weeks of bedrest...yes complete bedrest and after a horrible delivery he was here. But it wasn't happy ever ending...just yet. He was grey, he wasn't breathing that well and they thought he may have bleeding in/on the brain so we get to see him for seconds and off they go to do tests...well at this point you know we are saying...how much more do we have to go through. The next four hours took forever and finally we got to see our baby boy and hold him...all tests came back fine..he just needed some help with breathing and he was little jaundice and here we are today...with a happy and thriving seven year old...but for me...he's more than that...he is who saved me...he is who let me believe again...he is who made me want to be the best mommy in the world...he is my Superman!

The title says it all...we are so ready for spring here in the U.P. and the snow can stop paying us a visit at anytime. Hopefully the last two snowfalls were it and it is all going to melt away now and spring is on it's way! Preston is a huge part of the reason my passion for photography had become so strong and of course he is the reason why I wanted to be part of this project. The Littlest Heroes Project is a non-profit based organization founded in January 2008 by Felicia Reinhard, made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. This little guy is the most adorable ever! And look at all of that hair...I ♥ it! We did these in two different sessions. The ones with big sis (is she just BEAUTIFUL!) and him in his adorable little sweater outfit was done back in April. We tried to get some with the hats at that session and he was just not having it. This past Friday I went to his house to see if we could try again and we got some with the hats (the bear hat was a little too small but we did it anyway). I had decided during the session that this little guy just doesn't like the hats because when they were off he had no problem posing...guess he wants to show off all of that hair!

The weather here has been crazy! There are days it's sunny and warm enough to wear shorts and then the next day there's snow on the ground...thankfully it doesn't stay long...we are ready for a nice warm summer! So of course I have gotten some new items and Paige loves to model it all! This day she decided to try this new tutu (I know, usually I make my own tutu's but not this one) and headband. Both items can be found on Etsy. The flower headband is from Pretty Baby Bowtique and I think I have pretty much all of her headbands...love her things! The ribbon tutu is from Petitepeanut.

This little guy cracked me up! All of his expressions but no smiles! Mom said he smiles all the time but he wasn't giving me any... that was until we had daddy trying to get him to smile. So we did end up with a few smiles but I am loving the ones in the bear hat...how can you not just fall in love with him... just look at those faces!

May 2, 2002...a day that forever changed our lives. I was 23 1/2 weeks pregnant with our twin daughters. I woke up that morning not feeling "right" but I had a doctor's appointment later that day so I figured I would just wait until then if I still didn't feel right. Unfortunatly through out the day I felt worse and we called to get in earlier for our appointment. We arrived at my doctor's and he took me in the room immediatly. From here everything was just BOOM... RUSH...URGENT. I was told to go to the hospital now and when we got there the nurses were waiting for me and got me into bed... I was in labor. They started me on drugs and Milwaukee was willing to take me as long as I was stable. Well that never happened...it was so bad my husband had to decide... you lose the babies or you lose all three. The look of heartbreak on his face I will never forget...all it took to finally get to this point...to even get pregnant...all the shots...all the hormones...all the testing...and knowing that I did everything right and perfect the moment I found out I was pregnant and he was having to make this decision.

Payton Marie was born first and she passed away minutes later. Payton had daddy's toes, the longest fingers and she looked like my baby brother Josh. Hope Marie was born an hour later and she looked just like mommy, she even had my toes. A helicopter was coming to get her to transfer her to Green Bay. We could not go with her because I had to get IV antibiotics for 3 days..but I told my doctor I would be leaving in the morning and he knew me well enough that I would no matter what. We got to go see our baby girls in the nursey before Hope left...to see them together...it was beautiful but knowing they would be seperated I just prayed for Hope to be strong and for Payton to help her sister.

The next morning I told the nurses...time for me to leave. The doctor came in and said he knew he couldn't change my mind and that I need two shots before I left and then he would talk to the doctors in Green Bay about getting me an IV there. The nurse comes in gives me one shot and another nurse comes to the door and said she had a phone call and it can't wait. My heart sank because I knew it was the other hospital saying Hope had passed away, I looked at the clock for the time...a mother knows. The nurse came back in and I said she passed away didn't she and the nurse smiled and said "No honey it was something else" as her eyes teared up... she gave me my last shot and hugged me.

On our drive I already knew Hope had passed away...my only regret was that we just didn't leave when she left...I should have been with her...her mommy should have been holding her. We get to the hospital and they put us in a private room and we are told to wait. The doctor comes in and starts to talk about how hard Hope fought... they all thought she had a chance and I stopped him and said "I just want my baby". He took my hand and said if I ever want to talk about it...later today , tomorrow, next week, even a year later all I had to do was call him.

I could go on...because I remember it as if it happened today in 2010. It's just something a mother doesn't and won't forget. Payton and Hope are part of our family. They may not be here with us but they will forever be our first children and our other children's big sisters. Their pictures are up all over in our house, just as are Preston, Paige and Parker's.

Every year for their birthday we go to the cemetery and bring the girls flowers and balloons. This year Paige is old enough to hold the balloons and be the one to let them go. Paige got a little upset though. Paige didn't want to send her sisters the balloons...Paige wanted to keep them. We finally convinced her to let them go and Paige told us that the balloons were going to the moon and not to heaven for her sisters. My husband and I of course thought that was funny...she's our little stinker!

Eight years...I can't believe they would be eight today. I am forever grateful that I had the time with them that I did.

My baby boy...I so love him...his smile just makes everything better! He's been having a few rough days...those darn molars are coming in...all four of them...which means no sleep for him or for mommy. But today he gave me this and like I said...it makes everything all better...how could it not. Today I got my new camera...nope didn't win it, had to buy it...but oh SO WORTH IT!

I can't believe my baby is one...he's actually been one since March but I just didn't want to believe it LOL! The moment he was placed in my arms I knew he was meant to complete our family. What a wonderful and busy first year it was! Now we are working on walking and he's not quite sure about that. He stands up and I encourage him to come towards me and he shakes his head no and sits back down...what a stinker! I do know this... he won't be walking for long..he'll be running! Is he not the most precious little guy EVER!

AUTISM { Bark River Michigan Child Photographer }

April is Autism Awareness Month. Our oldest was diagnosed with having Autism when he was two and a half. When he was around ten months I started seeing signs and all my family and friends said he was fine and not to worry. I mean how could there be anything wrong with him...just in May of 2002 we had lost our twin daughters, Payton and Hope..how could we be given any more heartache? But I knew otherwise. By January 2005 our son was a completly different child. It was at this time our fight began. I think for us the hardest part wasn't the news that our son had just been diagnosed with having Autism, but the fight to get the appointments for the doctors because they want to do this test or that test, to get all the therapies that is needed to help him, and can't forget the fight with the insurance co. because most of the things aren't even covered by them...that is what drains you. So after years of many doctors appointments, weekly therapy appointments and many calls to the insurance company our little man has come so far!

This past Febuary he woke up on a Saturday morning and just started talking. Now he had some words before and usually it only lasted for weeks and then he lost them. But this time it was different..it was A LOT of words and it was ALL DAY LONG! It was like he had six years of talking he had to get out and I was loving every second of it! Everyday he is talking more and everyday I ask him to say certain words just because it sounds so adorable coming out of his little mouth..crazy I know..but I have waited years for this. One of my favorites is "I love you mom" and then two days ago he just started saying "I promise to love you forever always" and you know I couldn't stop crying...something so simple but yet so amazing to a mom.

This little princess is just precious! We attempted to get some smiles when she had the tutu on but she decided it was more fun for her to eat the tulle. She did give us smiles when she didn't have the tutu on...but the tutu pictures are just so darn cute smiles or not! Check out those eyes and those eyelashes...WOW! This little Princess is too darn cute! Just look at those cheeks and those big blue eyes...can you say ADORABLE! If you know me then you know how I LOVE my tutus and flower headbands, so of course we had to do some in those. Then mom brought the cutest little outfit and it came with a hat and how cute does she look in that! He is growing up way too fast for me! This session didn't go as planned because he wanted NOTHING to do with me or the camera. I was only able to get two pictures and then...thump! He tipped over the bucket and crawled away. I guess he was telling me he was done LOL! Now I take his picture several times a week and I know once he crawls away we are done and if I try to bring him back he screams. So, I had to use what I got and I LOVE the end result. I am getting this one printed HUGE! I love his sweet look, his eyes, his smirk..I love him!

Well I have enjoyed the last few weeks with my family but it is now time to get back to work. Today's session will be with a newborn who was born around Christmas...I LOVE the newborns..so excited!

I thought my first post for 2010 should be with my kiddos but only two would cooperate and that's fine so as you see one will be missing because he flat out told me, "No..all done" LOL!
My children are growing up way too fast..I just want to stop time or slow it down. Parker is going to be one soon and that time flew by! He's now crawling and all over! Paige is getting to be a big girl now and wanting to be more independent. Preston is doing awesome in school and everyday you see him "come out" more and more.

The three picture I have are two of Parker..one with his blanket (he always has to have one but they must be soft or he refuses to use it LOL) and then one in a hat but you see all of his teeth and there's a lot! Then of course Princess Paige in her angel outfit..isn't she beautiful! She misses her daddy so much! Everyday it's "Good Morning mommy, daddy still at work?"
